AUTHENTICITY FRAMEWORK

KNOW WHAT A VERIFICATION MEANS

BARKOD.IN verification is designed to show whether a barcode corresponds to a registered product record within the BARKOD.IN system.

01 — ABOUT BARKOD.IN

BARKOD.IN is a barcode infrastructure and product identity platform that provides barcode allocation, product registration, barcode inventory management, verification and related digital services.

The BARKOD.IN system maintains records connecting allocated barcode numbers with customer accounts and, where registered, product information.

02 — BARCODE AUTHENTICITY

A barcode displayed or downloaded through a customer's BARKOD.IN account corresponds to the barcode record allocated to that account within the BARKOD.IN system.

Customers can use the BARKOD.IN verification system to check whether a barcode has a corresponding registered product record.

A successful BARKOD.IN verification confirms the presence of a matching record in the BARKOD.IN system. It does not by itself certify the product's quality, safety, regulatory status or legal compliance.

03 — BARCODE NUMBER & BARKOD SERIAL

Each allocated barcode is associated with a BARKOD.IN internal BARKOD Serial used to help identify and manage the allocation record within the platform.

The Barcode Number is the numeric barcode identifier represented in the barcode artwork.

The BARKOD Serial is an internal reference and should not be confused with a GS1 Company Prefix, GTIN ownership claim or other third-party registration.

04 — PRODUCT INFORMATION

A registered product record may contain information such as product name, brand, category, description, MRP, batch number, weight or variant, manufacturer information, website, marketplace availability and product images.

This information is supplied by the customer unless otherwise stated. BARKOD.IN does not automatically certify every statement submitted by a customer.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that submitted product information is accurate and that they have the necessary rights to use any submitted images, logos, trademarks or other content.

05 — PUBLIC VERIFICATION

BARKOD.IN may make registered product information available through a public verification page so that a person scanning or entering a barcode can view the associated product record.

The presence of a product on the verification system should not be interpreted as a government certification, laboratory certification, marketplace approval, manufacturer endorsement or GS1 certification.

06 — GS1 & THIRD-PARTY IDENTIFICATION

BARKOD.IN does not represent a BARKOD.IN allocated barcode as a barcode issued by GS1 India or another GS1 member organization.

Customers who require GS1-issued GTINs, GS1 Company Prefixes or other third-party identification services should obtain those services directly from the relevant organization.

Customers are responsible for determining which barcode or product-identification standard is required for their intended marketplace, retailer, distributor or supply chain.

07 — HOW TO VERIFY A BARKOD.IN BARCODE

Open the BARKOD.IN Verify Product page and enter the barcode number or applicable BARKOD Serial.

If a matching registered product exists, BARKOD.IN may display the associated product information.

A barcode that does not return a product record may be unused, unregistered, unavailable in the public verification system or otherwise not associated with a publicly verifiable product record.

08 — COUNTERFEIT OR MISUSE CONCERNS

If you believe that a BARKOD.IN barcode is being used fraudulently, duplicated, misrepresented or associated with an unauthorized product, contact BARKOD.IN Support with the relevant barcode number and available evidence.

BARKOD.IN may review the relevant account, allocation and product records and take appropriate action where the platform records support such action.

09 — CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITY

Customers must not claim that BARKOD.IN verification represents government approval, GS1 certification, product safety certification or any other certification that has not actually been obtained.

Customers must also ensure that their packaging, product claims, licenses, registrations and marketplace listings comply with the requirements applicable to their business and products.

10 — COPYRIGHT & BRAND ASSETS

The BARKOD.IN name, logo, website interface, software, documentation, graphics and original platform materials are owned by or used by BARKOD.IN subject to applicable rights.

You may not reproduce, modify, redistribute, sell or represent BARKOD.IN proprietary platform materials as your own without appropriate permission.

A barcode file allocated to your account may be used for legitimate purposes associated with the corresponding barcode, subject to the applicable BARKOD.IN terms.

11 — AUTHENTICITY OF DOWNLOADED FILES

Barcode artwork downloaded from an authenticated BARKOD.IN account is generated from the barcode record maintained by the BARKOD.IN system.

Customers should download barcode artwork directly from their BARKOD.IN account rather than relying on unknown third-party copies when file authenticity matters.

Customers should preserve the original downloaded files and avoid unnecessary modification of barcode artwork that could affect scanning reliability.

12 — MARKETPLACE ACCEPTANCE

A BARKOD.IN barcode may be technically scannable and verifiable within the BARKOD.IN system, but this does not guarantee acceptance by Amazon, Flipkart, Zomato, Blinkit, Supermart or another marketplace, retailer or supply-chain system.

Third-party platforms may have their own requirements concerning GTINs, GS1 registration, product identifiers, seller verification, category rules and listing approval.

IMPORTANT DISTINCTION

VERIFICATION IS NOT CERTIFICATION.

A successful BARKOD.IN verification means that the submitted barcode matches a product record maintained in the BARKOD.IN system. It does not independently certify the product, manufacturer, regulatory status, quality or marketplace eligibility.
